A Defender who attended three UK Football Trial events this summer is set to take to the stage when Malta face England on Saturday.

Ryan Scicluna, 23, came to our events in Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham in August and attracted the attention of several clubs with his impressive displays in defence and midfield.

After making his debut for the Malta national team back in 2014, his second cap came in a 5-1 defeat to Scotland last month, where he started at right back.

UK Footbal Trials' FA Registered Intermediary James Price, who saw Ryan play in Manchester, said: "This is probably the biggest moment is Ryan's career and we wish him the very best of luck for the game.

"He did fantastically well at our trials and received interest from a couple of scouts, so this will be a great opportunity for him to put in a good performance and put himself in the shop window."

James added: "A few weeks ago Ryan was at our trials playing in front of scouts and trying to get an opportunity.

"Now he's about to play at Wembley in front of 90,000 people and come up against the likes of Rooney, Kane and Sturridge, so he's a great example to any players out there of what can happen with the right attitude and hard work."

The World Cup Qualifier kicks off at 5pm this Saturday, tune in to see how Ryan get's on!
