14-year-old Femi Johnson is coming to the end of a six-week-trial with League 2 side Blackpool FC.

After sparking interest at the UK Football Trials event in Manchester in August, Femi was duely invited in to spend some time training and playing with the academy's u15's side, where he has excelled.

In between training three times a week, Femi has also featured in academy games against Oldham, Carlisle, Burnley and Wrexham, where he notched an assist to his name.

"The training has been really good," said Femi, "A lot better than anything that I've had before and I feel I've really learned a lot since coming here."

Femi, who can play on either wing, was being monitored by a Premier League club over the summer, but after nothing materialised he decided to attend a UK Football Trial.

Femi said: "The UK Football Trial was great, it was similar to the level of training I'm getting now at Blackpool, everything was really professional."

He added: "For me, I only started playing football two years ago and UK Football Trials have helped me get a professional trial already, so I'd recommend it to other players, whatever level they're at."

Femi has one more week with Blackpool before a decision is made, but regardless of the outcome, it's an incredible rise for someone who's only been playing the game for two years.
