Three Brothers Set to Fly Over For Blackpool Trial

Three Irish brothers are set for the opportunity of a lifetime when they fly over for a trial with Blackpool FC next week.

Sam O’Gorman, 15, was scouted at our trial in Manchester in December, along with his brothers Ben, 15 and Luke, 13.

This is the first time in UK Football Trials history that three brothers have all been scouted at the same trial, by the same club, in what is an amazing feat for the O’Gorman family.

Sam - a goalkeeper capped by Ireland u15’s – and his twin Ben – a midfielder who can also play full-back – will be training with Blackpool’s u16’s.

Meanwhile as the youngest of the three, Luke, who plays right-back, will be attending the academy to watch his brothers and meet the staff as they continue to monitor his progress.

“They are all very excited to be coming over, it’s fantastic,” said the boy’s Mother, Maura.

“We’re flying over Wednesday morning and they’ll have their first session with the club and we’ll go from there really.

She added: “It’s really good for them to see that it’s possible and it can happen, and they’re able to see the end goal.”

The talented trio did enough to impress the scouts from the League 1 club who were in attendance at our trial held at Hyde United FC just days before Christmas.

Maura said: “The boys loved it; they really thought it was just so professional and the pitch they played on was incredible.

“They were really complementary of the coaching and from a parents point of view it’s lovely to hear other people saying positive things about them and thinking that they’re good enough.

“Unfortunately for me, they liked is so much that we’re now having to arrange our Summer holidays around it for this year!”
