Semi-Pro side Manford Way could be set to add 22-year-old German powerhouse Dennis Simminger to their ranks, following an impressive spell on trial.

The 6-foot-2’ striker, who moved to England when he was 12, was scouted by the ‘Essex Olympian Football League Premier Division’ side when he attended our trial in West London this February.

Dennis has been training with the First Team for the last few weeks says he’s been impressed with the club and settled in well.

“Everything is going well, I’m working hard in training and getting on well with everyone there,” said Dennis.

“I think they’re happy with me and I’m really impressed with the club too, I’m adapting to the pace and will get used to it the more I train.”

He added: “I want to play at the highest level and I’m going to do it step by step. I’m looking forward to playing some games for Manford Way soon, there’s some friendlies coming up so I’m hoping to get my chance in those games.”

In the last few years Dennis has had spells with other semi-pro clubs Barry FC and Romford FC, as well as a trial with National League side Woking FC last year.

The UK Football Trial event in February was Dennis’ first time playing in front of that many scouts and he did well enough to get picked up on his first attempt.

However, despite a successful debut trial, Dennis hasn’t ruled out returning again in the future.

He said: “It was great, I really enjoyed it and it gave me the chance to see the level that I need to be at if I want to make it.

“It was really well organised and I would to do it again in the future – it’s a great chance for players.”

Dennis is currently training twice a week with Manford Way and hopes to feature in some friendlies for the club soon.
