115 Players Scouted from April Trials
The UK Football Trials team have returned from an incredible two weeks in which time we saw nearly 600 players from around the world.
Firstly, players of all different ages from 9 to 26 of different abilities and nationalities travelled to our 5 Day Football Trainong and Trial Camp in Ardingly, South London, for what some of them described as “the best week of their life.”
Over 60 players had the chance to stay at the impressive Ardingly College for 5 nights and receive two-and-a-half hours of professional coaching every day, alongside expert psychology work, speed, agility, strength and conditioning and pro club nutritional advice.
In total more than one in three players had their details requested by pro and semi pro club scouts, with the week’s work they did with our coaches seemingly preparing them for the trial on the final day. Living like a pro for the 5 days enabled the UK Football Trials team of experts to develop the players physically, mentally and socially for the final 5th day where 12 club scouts came to identify players.
During the second week of the Easter Half-Term we then moved around the UK to venues in Manchester, Birmingham and London to hold our 1 Day Football Trials.
Almost 40 club scouts from the Premier League through to semi-pro level attended our events in the search for undiscovered talent and weren’t left disappointed.
With 115 players scouted in our second week, there are sure to be plenty of players making the step up to pro or semi-pro football over the next few weeks, and in some cases arrangements with players have already been made.
All players from our 5 Day Camp and 1 Day Trials will be contacted this Friday, 21st April with a decision from the scouts.
Harry Price - Director of UK Football Trials said regarding the 5 day camp "The 5 day Training and Trial camp was a massive success, with players getting development in the key areas we believe are vital for them to handle the demands of pro club academy environments and for the older players - the semi pro game. Players got to work with world class experts in various fileds and the results of 1 in 3 players getting scouted on the final trial day shows how effective our system has been and how well the players did to progress in such a short space of time. We are already working hard towards the next camp in August which we can't wait to start! A huge thank you to all the players and parents that attended and for the overwhelmingly positve feedback that can be viewed on our Feefo page."
Harry Price then went on to say about the 1 day trials last week: "Once again we had a record number of players scouted and record numbers of scouts attending! We had nice weather all week and the players really did work hard and showed fantastic attitudes. We saw some really talented players, some as young as 9 and even as old as 27 who have been scouted and many players who were close and with some development will no doubt have a chance in the future. Once again - we really appreciated the efforts all players and parents made to attend and decisions from the scouts is going out over the next two days."
