A UK Football Trials player is set to be watched by scouts over the coming weeks after impressing at a trial this summer. Callum Flynn, 15, will be monitored by scouts from League 2 Newport County over the course of the 2015/16 season, following an impressive display at our Swansea football trial in August.

The 5ft 10’ striker, who has been the top goal-scorer for his club two seasons running, spent a year with the Swansea Development side aged 13 and also won the National School’s Cup the same year. Speaking about the two football trials Callum attended, his Dad Bob said: “He really enjoyed the trials, we thought it would be best to take him to the Birmingham trial first just so he could see how everything works and get comfortable. It was definitely the right decision, when we arrived at the Swansea trial next week he knew what to expect and it helped him settle down straight away.”

Newport will be attending a series of Callum's matches over the remainder of the season, monitoring his progress before making a decision on his future in the summer - this is a very common process and one that lots of players experience before going in for a trial.
