Goalkeeper Earl Trials for Premier League Club Bournemouth

Goalkeeper James Earl had a trial with Premier League club Bournemouth after they heard of his impressive display at our event.

James had attended our trial in West London at the end of 2017 and subsequently got invited to train at Sheffield United and Cheltenham Town – you can read the full Q&A from January here https://ukfootballtrials.com/success-stories/255

However neither club decided to make the trial permanent.

A few weeks later, an interview we conducted with James at our trials fell into the hands of Bournemouth, which ultimately led to another trial opportunity for James. You can view that video here https://youtu.be/s5hG-PQqlwA

James’ dad, Cliff, explained: “After Sheffield United and Cheltenham decided they didn’t want to take things any further, we knew we had to look at different options.

“I sent James’ CV and a link to the UK Football Trials video to Bournemouth and got a call back inviting him in for a trial for a scholarship place.”

“He had two weeks training at Bournemouth and played in a game. It was a great experience for him to have some time with a Premier League club but in the end they said because they were in the Premier League they had to judge at that level and sadly didn’t think that he had that potential to get there.

“But the exposure he got from UK Football Trials online definitely helped secure other opportunities.”

James has booked another trial and we look forward to seeing him again in July where another exciting opportunity awaits.
