Freeman Nyakumbi, who plays as a central attacking midfielder, was invited for a trial with Crystal Palace on the same day he was spotted at our football trial in West London in August. Displaying incredible vision and awareness for his age, this is a big jump for a player who has only played to district level in the past. Speaking about Freeman's trial with Palace, Dad, James, said: "It was a good experience for him to have a trial with a Premiership club but he didn't really get a lot of the ball and he wasn't able to show what he can do. They didn't take him through to the next stage but they are going to monitor him for the rest of the season."

Clive Roach, who scouted Freeman on the day, said: "He has phenomenal skills, his awareness is brilliant, everything about him - ball skills, he was polite and has a great attitude, he has the lot. If he can just sharpen up on the ball and be a bit quicker on his feet there's a real future for him." James said: "Freeman really enjoyed his UK Football Trial and if nothing happens with Palace we'll bring him back. The whole process was great, he got a lot of time with the coaches and I think he has improved as a player for going."
