Premier League Club Huddersfield Take Jean Pierre on Trial

Premier League club Huddersfield invited Jean Pierre Khadija for a trial after the 14-year-old caught the attention of scouts at our event in Manchester.

Jean Pierre, who is Congolese, moved to the UK over two years ago and has made big strides with his football in that time.

“At home I played for a local team but the level there isn’t the same as in the UK, so there was never really a pathway,” Jean Pierre explained.

“I came to UK Football Trials in October and it was really good, I don’t think I could have played for any academy team before but I had that chance after being seen by the scouts.”

After standing out at our trial, Jean Pierre received an email from Huddersfield inviting him to play in a Trial XI vs Academy match.

Jean Pierre said: “I played 30 minutes at right-wing against the academy and we lost 2-0, but I think I did well considering it was my first game playing at that level.

“It was quite tough though as I was playing against 17 and 18-year-olds.”

Jean Pierre is currently playing for local side Bolton United, but does have more trials pending with two other football league clubs.

For now Huddersfield are continuing to monitor Jean Pierre with a view to inviting him back in the future.
