Ovais Qamar, Aged 15, Trial With Conference Team Kidderminster Harriers
UK Football Trials are delighted to announce that a player from one of our October trials has been scouted and will have a chance to play semi professionally. Ovais Qamar, a pacey striker who possesses quick feet and a natural ability for finishing, was scouted for trials with Kidderminster Harriers FC, after impressing at our trial in Birmingham. The 15-year-old have his trial with the Conference Premier side later this week, on February 6. Speaking after his trial, he said: “I really enjoyed the day, it was a fantastic experience and I loved the training methods that were used.
The attention to detail really helped me and I can already see an improvement in my ball control. “The trials are brilliant. The coach has been in constant contact with us since the trial and has made it a really personal experience. I’d definitely recommend this trial setup for anyone who is unsure what to do next or where to go." He added: "We’ve been to other similar setups in the pat and we found that there weren’t even any scouts there; we left after half the day. The main thing we took away from this is that if the player has the talent or the skill, then with UKFT they WILL get you the chance.” Finally, Ovais shared his training play with us, to help other people in his shoes get to where he has. “I don’t have a strict training plan as such, I just try to keep generally fit. I walk back from school every day, train a couple of times a week with my team and play games either once or twice on the weekends for my local side, Dudley Junior Sports u16’s.”
