Seico Camara - Aged 20 - Trial for semi-pro AFC Darwen
20-year-old Seico Camara, from Portugal, was scouted by semi-pro club AFC Darwen and attended a trial at their training ground this season.
The left wing back, who was born in Guinea but moved to Portugal as a child, came to England in 2014 and has been playing in the semi-pro leagues ever since.
His most recent venture brought him to UK Football Trials in Manchester last October, where he put in an impressive display and was soon invited for a trial with AFC Darwen, who play in the North West Counties League Division One North.
“I went to UK Football Trials and got scouted by Darwen,” Seico explained.
“I liked it there, my trial was good. We did a warm up and then went into a training game.
“The standard of the players was very good. The problem in the end was that it was too far for me to keep travelling and training. I want to be a pro and I will keep trying my best.”
Before coming to the UK, Seico played for Boavista in Portugal, a first division youth side.
He now plans to return to UK Football Trials in the coming months as he continues to work hard to make it as a footballer in England.
