UK Football Trials are delighted to announce that a goalkeeper has signed with Isthmian League Premier Division side Farnborough FC following a successful football trial.

James Soale, 16, attended our goalkeeper trial in West London in February this year which was taken by a current Premier League Academy Coach and has subsequently been signed by a club.

James, who stands at 5ft 11' and weighs around 60kg, has signed a contract to study for 2 years at the club undergoing their b-tech, while also training with the academy and having chances with the first-team.

Marc Wardley, a scout and coach from Farnborough FC, spotted James at the trial and invited him in to train with the club.

"James did well, I was impresed with him when I saw him at the UK Football Trial event," said Marc.

He added: "We were all happy with what we saw from him when he came in to train with the academy and we're happy to have him signed with us for the next two years."

James underwent three sessions with the academy team as well as some shooting drills with the first team at the club's main ground.

"I'm over the moon," said James, "I've not really had any opportunites in football in the past so I'm a little bit nervous about starting, but I'll keep training over the summer and aim to go in to pre-season in good shape."

He added: "This was my second UK Football Trial and the feedback I got from the first one definitely helped me this time around.

"The coaches told me what to work on and I did that, so I was a lot more comfortable at this trial. UK Football Trials helped to get me noticed and told me what I needed to do to get there.

"I'd definitely say that if it doesn't work out first time, you need to go again."
