Former QPR and Aldershot player Signs with Billericay Town
Former QPR and Aldershot player Gabby Adelowo has signed a deal with Ryman Football League side Billericay Town FC, after a standout performance at our trial in Essex...
The 6-foot central-defender, who captained Aldershot u19's, has attended various UK Football Trials in recent years dating back to 2013 following his release from QPR.
At the time he did well enough to secure trials with Brentford, Crystal Palace and Stoke, for whom he played a trial match against Tottenham Hotspur, before eventually signing for Aldershot.
However, following his release from the club at the end of last season, Gabby returned to UK Football Trials in the hope of securing another club.
An impressive showing at the trial in Essex at the beginning of June attracted interest from several clubs and Billericay were the first to make a formal approcah for the player.
"I got a call from Jim at UK Football Trials shortly after the trial," said Gabby, "He informed me fo Billericay's interest and from then on it was an easy decision."
He added: "I've played in a few pre-season games for the first-team against Dover, Reading u21's and Gillingham and we've got a few more coming up over the next few weeks.
Gabby has a great ongoing relationship with the UK Football Trials team and described his experience as “very warm and welcoming.”
“It was really good, they were very welcoming and I had a very good time,” he said, “They've really helped me in my career and I’m really grateful for the way they've looked after me and how they've helped my game.”
