Sope Awe, 15, has been training with Blackpool u16's for the last two weeks following a successful trial in Manchester.

The central midfielder, who already stands at 6 foot 2', had his details requested by two clubs on the day of his trial and Blackpool moved quickly to ensure they got to see him up close again.

Within a week of attending the UK Football Trials event, Sope, who can also play up front, was training at the club's academy and he has already completed two sessions, with another arranged for this evening.

Sope's Father, James, said: "Blackpool really seem to appreciate him, at the end of the first session they invited him back for another and tonight we're going in for the third time.

"He has really enjoyed it, it's completely different to anything he's experienced in the past, the coaching was excellent, the level of the other players is great and he's settled in really well."

James added: "Hopefully he can learn a lot while he's here, we will just take it day by day and see what their decision is; we're really happy to support him with his football.

"The UK Football Trial was a very good experience for us, it was a great decision for us and we will recommend other players to give it a go - this is one of the best moments of Sope's life."

Sope will continue training with Blackpool for the foreseeable until they reach a decision on his future, meanwhile he is still also playing for his local team at the weekends to stay match fit.
