A promising Belgian midfielder will be spending the next few weeks training with Manchester City after impressing during his initial session with the Premier League giants.

Jordan Kabongo, 14, attended our trial in Manchester last October and impressed the coach taking his session, who just happened to be a Lead Academy Coach at Manchester City.

The powerful number 10, who towered over the other players in his group at 6 foot 3', received one of the best scorecards a coach has ever given out, receiving 4 A’s out of a possible 10 – his lowest grade was a B.

Last week Jordan spent an evening with Man City’s shadow squad and will continue training with them once a week for the foreseeable future.

Jordan’s Uncle, Francois, attended both the UK Football Trial and the Manchester City trial with him and revealed, “it’s like Jordan is dreaming.”

“His desire is to join Man City, absolutely,” said Francois.

“Jordan is very excited about it all, it’s like he’s dreaming. He wasn’t nervous about going in, he’s just been so happy and couldn’t wait to get started.”

The talented youngster flew over from Belgium especially to take part in our trial last year and flew home straight after, explaining the delay in arranging the trial with City.

Francois added, “The trial was great, a really good opportunity for him and a fantastic service.

“To hear that a club is interested is like music to your ears – some players take 4 or 5 trials to get scouted so to hear this on the first time was incredible.”

The Manchester City Academy Coach said about Jordan, “He is one of the best players I’ve coached in 4 years of working with UK Football Trials and he got one of the best scorecards I’ve ever given out.

“He did well when he came in with us and we’ll continue to assess him over the next few weeks.”

Jordan also received interest from Accrington Stanley in League 2 and has been offered a trial with the club – something he and his family will decide on when a decision has been reached by Manchester City.
