Ammar Dyer, 13, has been offered trials with two pro clubs after he was scouted at our event in Birmingham in April.

The promising youngster, who can play as an attacking midfielder or on the wing, hasn’t had any experience in pro football before our trial but received interest from two scouts on the day.

Now training with Port Vale, Ammar – who plays for CS Colts FC on the weekends - has also been contacted by Shrewsbury and has accepted an offer of a trial with the u15’s in June.

His Dad, Andrew, described the time since our trial as “a whirlwind month.”

“It’s incredible what’s happened in the space of a month since the UK Football Trial,” Andrew said.

He explained: “Ammar was contacted by both clubs and attended a trial at Port Vale last Wednesday and Friday with the u14’s, and he will be going in with Shrewsbury in pre-season as well.

“He had a fantastic time at Vale, he really enjoyed it. They trained for one-and-a-half hours and he handled it quite well, he came away feeling happy and it was a great experience for him.”

Just weeks before attending the UK Football Trial in Birmingham, Ammar went to Ajax with his school, where he got the opportunity to play against some of their different age groups – he received Man of the Match in one game and Player of the Tour overall – perfect preparation for the trial.

“He had a fantastic time at UK Football Trials,” said Andrew, “This is his first trial, the first time he’s ever attempted anything like this – he took a look at UK Football Trials online and it went from there.

“We weren’t sure what to expect but veryone made him feel so at ease, he got a positive scorecard back with good feedback which was a real boost and meant he was full of confidence.”

Ammar is set to continue training with Port Vale over the next few weeks before joining up with Shrewsbury in pre-season. We will continue to bring you updates on his progress as we get them!
