Crystal Palace have followed up their Premier League survival with the signing of 15-year-old Kwame Danso.

The left-side centre-back has been on UK Football Trials books for some time after attending our events last year.

The initial interest came from West Ham, where he proceeded to join up on trial and remained there for a number of months.

But with no final decision being made his future, Kwame elected to take up the offer a trial with Wolves, newly promoted to the Premier League, after they too were impressed with him at our trial event.

Despite playing in several games and performing well while on trial, Wolves were unable to offer him a place at the academy.

Through one of the scouts at UK Football Trials however, Crystal Palace were alerted to the situation and immediately offered him a trial.

Crystal Palace scout, Eiaman, who has overseen Kwame’s signature, explained: “He went in at Wolves but then the opportunity came for us to take a look at him, so of course we did.

“Kwame played against Chelsea, Coventry and a few others and did really well.

“He is intelligent, strong and quick and matches the profile of player we look for at Crystal Palace, so we’re delighted that we could sign him.”

Kwame is already benefitting from the new experiences at Crystal Palace, including being named in the squad who played at Selhurt Park in the Floodlit Cup Final.

Furthermore, Kwame has been selected to play for Ghana u17’s at the WAFU Cup in August.

We would like to congratulate Kwame on a huge moment in
