Kalvin Lumbombo-Kalala has scored 2 goals in 3 games for Cheltenham Town First Team after being scouted at our trials in May.

The French forward has been spending his time between England and France over the last few weeks while he’s on trial, and has been an important figure for The Robins during pre-season.

His first game came against West Brom at the start of the month, where he came up against the likes of Gareth Barry and Jay Rodriguez.

Then came Cirencester Town, which saw Kalvin score and partner up front with Mo Eisa, who has been the subject of bids from Sunderland this week, in what Pete Johnson, Head of Recruitment, described as “our strongest team available.”

Kalvin took his form from that game into the match against last night’s opponents Evesham United, putting his side 1-0 up within 30 seconds with a towering header.

After the game, First Team Manager Gary Johnson spoke to Gloucestershire Live and gave his thoughts on Kalvin’s performances so far and his chances of securing a pro contract.

“Yes, he is going the right way about it. He looks the part at the moment and we are pleased with him,” said Gary.

“We still have to talk to him and his representative and hopefully we can sort something out for him because we like him and hopefully we can get him a game on Saturday.”
