A UK Football Trials player has become the second in as many months to sign a contract after attending our trial. Jacob Tarasenko, 18, has signed a contract with semi pro side Farnborough FC after he was invited in for a trial with the club in May.

He attended a UK Football Trial in April this year and performed well, making use of the experience he gained whilst in the Dinamo Zagreb academy in Croatia. The striker, originally from Australia, said: “I enjoyed the experience with UK Football Trials a lot, there was a level of professionalism that you would expect from a pro club. It was a good opportunity for me to show what I can do and it’s great that scouts are there watching you. "I’d recommend it, definitely, you never know who’s watching you and it’s a great chance to make a step up in your game. If you are good enough then they will find something for you."

Jacob, who has previously undergone trials with Wigan Athletic and Cambridge Utd, displayed a good touch and the trickery to beat a man on his trial with us, which he puts down to his intense training regime. "I train twice a day most days of the week, getting up at 6am and doing a 2 hour workout - push ups, sit ups etc - to build my core strength, then I do this again at 5pm. On nights when I'm training with my local team I wont train individually," he said. Jacob will start his season with Farnborough in the Isthmian League Premier Division after they were relegated from the Conference South last season.
