Josh Schofield, Aged 11, Trial with Everton
Great news for yet another UK Football Trials player! 11 year old Josh Schofield has been training and playing with Premier League side Everton Football Club since November, after he was spotted at our football trial in Manchester. Josh’s bravery in goal, obvious shot stopping ability and composure on the ball stood out to the on looking scouts, who subsequently invited him to train with the u12’s.
He now has 4-5 professional sessions each week with Everton, including 1-on-1 training working on his technique. Josh also trains himself outside of football or school hours to make sure he stays in shape! We asked Joshua and his father to describe their experience with UK Football Trials: "He really enjoyed the trial, as did I did as a parent. The whole day was set up really well and we were made to feel really welcome right from the off. The goalkeeper coach, Billy Stewart, was fantastic with us. I’d definitely recommend UK Football Trials to anyone. I initially only brought Josh along to see what kind of level he was playing at and if this sort of thing was right for him. We got an honest appraisal of where he was at he was able to really kick on." We congratulate Joshua with his ongoing success and hope he inspires YOU to take your chance at our next football trials!
